Textile Elizabeth and James Cooper Midnight 1 e1356896954218 Denim Review: Textile Elizabeth and James Cooper in Midnight

This week my review will be on a pair of the Textile Elizabeth and James Cooper in Midnight. I have been a fan of Textile ever since it first launched a few years back. The styles from season to season have always been eye catching, yet classic and modern at the same time.

I first tried a pair of the Debbie jeans and was hooked on them ever since. There is something about every single pair that I have tried that has just been amazing. Whether it be the details or washes, the Cooper is no exception. The style already has fans such as Emma Roberts, Cheryl Cole and Alicia Keys and I can now first hand say that I know why. I find that they are a versatile pair that you can style many ways for everyday, even with all the zipper details.

I instantly fell for them when I first saw them, like I do with many Textile jeans, because of the details. They have exposed chunky zippers at both the fly of the jeans and ankles. The waistband is also different than the usual pair of jeans. Instead of a button that you loop through a hole, there are two snap buttons. I know that the details are quite bold for many, but like I said earlier, these are quite a versatile pair. They fit just right in with my closet.

The wash is something that I am also quite fond of. There is no such thing as enough black denim in my mind. It is a black wash that is not pitch black and has subtle fading on the thigh. I find that the wash of these really does help with the versatility of them.

Another detail that I wanted to point out that is new this season is on the back pocket. The bottom has a few more rows of stitching than styles from a few seasons before. I find this detail to be very unique and different because it is not in your face.

The fit is a classic skinny with a slight crop. They hit me just above my ankles, which is fine with me because the shoes that I pair them with are cut higher (chukkas). They do run a tad smaller than the previous Textile jeans that I have. You can size up on them, but I find that a slouchy fit will detour from the overall feel of the jeans, which is very edgy. They are named after Alice Cooper after all.

Overall, these jeans lived up to my expectations ever since I saw them in their Fall look book. I would definitely recommend them if you are looking for an update of the usual black jeans. You can click here to purchase them at MadisonLosAngeles for $218.
